Other Projects
My New Year Resolution this year is simply to be more joyous in all things.
Then I cleaned my garage (joyously!) and found some unfinished projects. So I added “finishing unfinished projects” to my Resolution. But it still fits within the guidelines of being more joyous in all things – since they are art projects and art fills me with joy.

Chair on left – $5 at a thrift store, originally covered in 3 layers of paint with maroon being the top coat. Chair on right – dumpster dived! Covered in several layers of paint with putrid sort of light purple top coat, cushion hand painted mess – both stripped now. Waiting for more love, attention and dose of creativity.
UPDATE: I’ve refinished the chair on the left with a beautiful smooth Minwax Jacobean stain – it’s smooth as satin. The $5 thrift store chair dreams of being a throne. So I created a seat with a “fake” red velvet. This piece will be called “Chair Dreams” and in the center at the top I am painting a golden throne.
I’m still trying to tune into what the little telephone table/desk is dreaming…
Here is one I finish a while back…This was refinished and upholstered. I bought this at a consignment shop for a good enough price that when sold, the percentage I received made me a profit. Consignments shops typically have a split of 50/50 or 60/40. Consignment shop earning 50% or 60% of the selling price.
